About VaultlyApps
What is VaultlyApps?
VaultlyApps is an independent software studio run by developer Mohammad Ali. It designs, builds and publishes practical software — currently a family of private personal-finance and landlord web apps — and writes guides about money, software and web development.
Can I try an app before buying it?
Yes. Every live VaultlyApps app has a free live demo with sample data. Open any project page and choose “Try live demo”; the demo runs right here on vaultlyapps.com and needs no sign-up.
Where do I buy VaultlyApps apps?
The current apps are sold as one-time purchases through the VaultlyApps shop on Etsy. Each project page links to its listing.
Do the apps need a subscription or an account?
No. The current apps are bought once, with free updates, and have no account system and no bank connection.
Where is my data stored when I use a VaultlyApps app?
On your own devices. If you link several devices, the data is encrypted on the device before it travels between them, and the relay that passes it along cannot read it.
Are the apps in the App Store or Google Play?
Not at the moment. They are progressive web apps: you install them from the browser on iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac, Windows or Chromebook, and they open like any other app.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Use the contact form. Every message is read, and suggestions directly shape what gets built next.
Vault — Personal Finance Dashboard
Does Vault connect to my bank account?
No. Vault never talks to your bank. You can import a CSV file that you download from your bank yourself, and the file is read on your device.
Do I need internet to use Vault?
You need internet the first time you open Vault on each device. After it is installed it works offline, and linked devices catch up when they are back online.
Is there a subscription?
No. Vault is a one-time purchase with free updates. There is no account and no monthly fee.
Where is my financial data stored?
On your own devices. If you link devices, the data is encrypted on your device before it travels between them. You can also export a full backup file at any time.
Which devices does Vault work on?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a modern browser such as Safari, Chrome or Edge — including iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac, Windows and Chromebook. It installs straight from the browser; it is not in the App Store or Play Store.
Can Vault help me pay off debt?
Yes. Enter each card and loan with its balance, APR and minimum payment, and Vault builds both a snowball and an avalanche plan with an estimated debt-free date, total interest and payoff order. An extra-payment slider shows how much sooner you could finish.
Can I import transactions from my bank?
Yes. Download a CSV file from your bank and import it in Vault. You match the columns with a live preview, duplicates are spotted and skipped, and the file is read on your device — Vault never connects to your bank.
Can I try Vault before buying?
Yes. The free live demo runs in your browser with realistic sample data, so you can explore the dashboard, budget, bills, goals and debt planner before deciding.
Flow — ADHD Budget Planner
Is Flow only for people with ADHD?
No. Flow is designed around ADHD needs — fewer steps, less clutter, no shame — but anyone who wants a calmer, simpler budget can use it.
What happens if I forget to log something?
Use "Check my money". You type your actual bank balance and Flow adjusts, so a forgotten coffee doesn't break your budget.
Does Flow work with irregular income?
Yes. You can set a weekly, every-2-weeks, twice-monthly or monthly pay schedule and track money that is on its way or owed back to you.
Does Flow need an account or a bank login?
No. There is no account and no bank connection. Your data stays on your own devices, and linked devices share it encrypted.
Can I import my bank history?
Yes. Flow can import a CSV file exported from your bank.
What is focus mode in Flow?
Focus mode is a single switch that hides everything except the essentials — Safe to Spend, quick logging and what's due — for days when the full app feels like too much.
What are paused buys?
When you want something that isn't planned, you can pause it instead of buying it straight away. After 48 hours Flow asks whether to let it go, buy it, or save up for it.
Does Flow have a debt payoff planner?
Yes. Flow includes a snowball or avalanche debt plan with your estimated debt-free month. For a deeper, dedicated debt simulator with what-if scenarios, see Zero.
Zero — Debt Payoff Planner
What is the difference between the debt snowball and debt avalanche methods?
The snowball method pays off the smallest balance first for quick wins. The avalanche method pays off the highest interest rate first, which usually costs less in total interest. Zero shows both side by side with your own numbers.
What information do I need for each debt?
The current balance, the interest rate (APR) and the minimum monthly payment.
Are Zero's numbers exact?
They are planning estimates based on the figures you enter. Your lender's figures may differ slightly, for example because of how and when interest is charged.
Does Zero connect to my lender or bank?
No. You enter your debts yourself, and the data stays on your own devices.
Is there a subscription?
No. Zero is a one-time purchase with free updates.
Can I choose my own payoff order?
Yes. Besides snowball and avalanche, Zero lets you set a custom order — for example clearing one small balance first for momentum and then switching to the highest interest rate.
Can I see what a tax refund or bonus would do?
Yes. Lump-sum what-ifs show the new debt-free date and the interest saved if you put a one-off amount toward debt in a chosen month, and you can save it as a scenario to compare.
Can I print my payoff plan?
Yes. Zero prints a month-by-month debt payoff plan that you can also save as a PDF — handy for the fridge or for talking it through with a partner.
Nest — Savings Challenge Tracker
How does the 52-week savings challenge work?
You save an increasing amount each week — $1 in week 1, $2 in week 2, up to $52 in week 52 — for a total of $1,378. Nest tracks each week for you, and its custom challenge builder lets you set your own target and timeline.
Does Nest hold or move my money?
No. Nest is a tracker. You move money in your own bank; Nest records it and shows your progress.
What if I miss a week?
Nest offers kind catch-up options — add a little extra later or stretch the timeline — instead of marking the challenge as failed.
Can I track more than one challenge at a time?
Yes. You can run several challenges and goals side by side.
Is there a subscription?
No. Nest is a one-time purchase with free updates, and it has no account.
Can Nest track an emergency fund?
Yes. The emergency fund tracker shows how many months of expenses your savings cover, and a "fund this first" mode puts it ahead of other goals until it reaches your target.
Can I make my own savings challenge?
Yes. The custom challenge builder lets you set any target and timeline and shows a live preview of the board before you start.
How does Nest work out how much I need to save?
For each goal with a target date, Nest calculates the amount per day, per week and per paycheck. As you save, the "at this pace" projection shows a realistic finish date based on what you've actually saved.
RentRoll — Landlord Dashboard
Does RentRoll collect rent from tenants?
No. RentRoll records rent you receive by any method. It does not process payments or connect to a bank.
How many units can RentRoll handle?
It is designed for independent landlords with roughly 1 to 20 units.
Does RentRoll support currencies other than US dollars?
Yes — USD, CAD, GBP, EUR and AUD. The Schedule E summary is specific to US taxes; other currencies get an annual expense summary by category.
Is RentRoll tax advice?
No. RentRoll organizes your records and produces summaries. Always check with your tax preparer.
Can several people use the same RentRoll?
The standard license is for your own rental business on up to 4 of your own devices. Contact us about team or multi-user licenses.
How do late fees work in RentRoll?
You choose a flat fee or a percentage of rent and a grace period. After the grace period RentRoll assesses the fee once — it never rewrites it later — and you can waive any fee with one click.
Can I record partial rent payments?
Yes. Record a full, partial or custom amount, and several payments in the same month. The rent roll shows the balance still owed and marks the unit as partial until it's paid.
Can I give my tax preparer the numbers?
Yes. RentRoll prints a Schedule E summary with the IRS line numbers, a profit-and-loss report per property and a rent roll, and exports the rent ledger, expenses and tenants as CSV.
Pulse — Bill & Subscription Tracker
Does Pulse pay my bills or cancel subscriptions?
No. Pulse is a tracker. It shows what is due and what each subscription costs; paying and cancelling happen with the provider.
Does Pulse send push notifications?
No. Pulse shows warnings inside the app — for example 7 and 3 days before a free trial ends — when you open it.
What happens to a bill due on the 31st in a shorter month?
Pulse moves it to the last day of that month automatically.
Can I export my bills?
Yes. Pulse exports CSV files that open in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets, and it can make a full JSON backup.
Is there a subscription?
No — fittingly, Pulse is a one-time purchase with free updates.
Can I record partial payments on a bill?
Yes. Record full or partial payments, and Pulse keeps the full payment history for every bill — even after you archive it.
Which bill schedules does Pulse support?
Weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly, yearly and one-time bills, with correct month-end handling for bills due on the 29th, 30th or 31st.
Who is Penny?
Penny is the Pulse mascot. She guides you through the sample data in the tour and appears around the app to keep things friendly.
Till — Small Business Profit Planner
Does Till connect to my bank?
No. You add records yourself or import a CSV file from your bank or marketplace. Till never moves money.
Does Till calculate my taxes?
Till sets aside the percentage you choose and shows US quarterly due dates. It is not tax advice — your accountant or tax office confirms the real amounts.
Can I send invoices from Till?
Till makes printable invoices and copy-ready reminders. You send them from your own email app; Till never sends anything by itself.
Does it work outside the US?
Yes. Any currency symbol, sales tax can be renamed VAT or GST, miles or km, and the US quarterly dates can be turned off.
Is there a subscription?
No. Till is a one-time purchase with free updates and no account.
Can Till import transactions from my bank or marketplace?
Yes. Import a CSV file, match its columns, choose the date and decimal format and preview before anything is added. Possible duplicates start unticked, and an import can be undone.
How does Till handle a business credit card?
A purchase on the card is recorded as the expense; paying the card is a transfer. That way the cost is never counted twice, and the drawer shows the card balance you still owe.
Can I use Till for a mixed personal and business purchase?
Yes. Record the purchase and the business percentage, and only the business share counts as an expense.
