Privacy Policy
What information vaultlyapps.com collects, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated
This policy explains how vaultlyapps.com (the "website") handles information. It covers this website only. VaultlyApps apps you open from this site — such as the live demos — and purchases made on third-party marketplaces such as Etsy are covered by their own terms and policies, described briefly below.
Who runs this website
The website is operated by VaultlyApps, an independent software studio run by Mohammad Ali. You can reach us through the contact page.
Information we collect
Information you send us
- Contact form. When you send a message, we receive your name, email address, subject and message. We use this only to read and reply to your message. Messages are stored in the website's database so they don't get lost.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you signed up from and the date. We use it only to email you about new VaultlyApps projects and articles.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
- Spam protection. To limit abuse of our forms we keep a one-way hash of the sender's IP address with each message or sign-up, and we count recent requests from each address for a short time.
- Analytics (only with consent). If analytics is enabled on the site and you agree to it, Google Analytics collects information about how the website is used, such as pages viewed and approximate location. See Cookies, analytics and advertising.
We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information such as financial account details through this website.
How we use information
- To respond to messages and support requests.
- To send the newsletter to people who asked for it.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the website (only with analytics consent).
- To show advertising, if advertising is enabled (see below).
- To protect the website against spam, abuse and security threats.
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The website itself does not need cookies to work. It stores your light/dark theme choice and your cookie choices in your browser's local storage.
If Google Analytics or Google AdSense is enabled, a consent banner appears and no optional cookies are set until you make a choice. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.
If advertising is enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (opens in a new tab). You can also learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab).
More detail is in our Cookie Policy.
Live demos and apps
Live demos run on this website (under /demos/) with sample data. Anything you type into a demo stays in your own browser's local storage — it is not sent to us. In the purchased apps, your data is stored on your own devices; when devices are linked, data is encrypted on the device before it is sent between them.
Purchases on Etsy
Purchases of VaultlyApps apps are made through Etsy. Etsy handles payment and order details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order information Etsy shares with sellers, which we use only to deliver and support your purchase.
How long we keep information
- Contact messages: until the conversation is finished and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Server logs: according to our hosting provider's retention settings, typically a few weeks.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the website — such as our hosting provider, our email provider, and Google if analytics or advertising is enabled — or when required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you emails, by using the contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and you may be able to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
The website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We use HTTPS throughout, keep software up to date, restrict access to the admin area, and store only what we need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
This is a general website policy written in plain language. It isn't legal advice and may be updated as the site and its services change — the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions? Contact us.
